MS VOLLEYBALL
Volleyball takes place in the fall from August thru beginning of October. Tryouts are usually in May.

COACH CURTIS BELL
This is Coach Curtis' second year coaching at Berean, but he has over 10 years of coaching experience in the Knoxville Area. Coach Curtis is passionate about teaching young girls to love volleyball, be a good teammate, and strives to get the most out of each player. Coach Curtis is excited to be a part of the growing volleyball program here at Berean.

Boys soccer takes place in the Spring. Tryouts are usually in February.

COACH JED GILLIS
Coach Jed has been coaching soccer here at Berean since 2023, but he has been coaching soccer at various levels for many years. Jed serves as the pastor of teaching and discipleship at Berean Bible Church. Jed has been in pastoral ministry for over 10 years, and has also served in a Christian school as a Bible teacher and band director. Jed and his wife, Erica, have 4 children, and his oldest son, Judah, plays on the middle school soccer team.
MS GIRLS BASKETBALL
Girls basketball takes place in the winter, November through February. Tryouts are in the fall.
COACH DAREN FILLER

With an over 10 years of experience coaching youth basketball, Coach D is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of players, both boys and girls. Coach D is a passionate advocate for skill development, and believes that every athlete has the potential to grow and excel, regardless of their starting point. Coach D focuses on instilling fundamental skills, teamwork, and a love for the game. By creating a positive and encouraging environment, he helps young athletes not only improve their basketball skills but also build confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship. Off the court, Coach D is committed to being a mentor and role model, emphasizing the importance of hard work, perseverance, and a positive attitude. Whether it’s through one-on-one training sessions or team practices, excited to guide young athletes on their journey to becoming skilled, confident basketball players.

COACH JOSH DUNCAN

Coach Duncan has served as an assistant coach to the varsity boys team for 3 years, but this will be his first year as a head coach at the varsity level. Coach Duncan is also a teacher at Berean; he teaches middle school history and Bible classes. Coach Duncan and his wife, Jennifer, have two sons who attend Berean, Kolton and Kaden. Coach Duncan is a great mentor for our young boys and develops them not only as basketball players, but as Christian young men.
MS JR VARSITY BASKETBALL

This will be Coach Miller's second year as a head coach here at Berean, but he has been involved in the Berean basketball program for several years here as a Berean alumni and former member of the basketball team. Dalton graduated from Berean in 2018, and continued his education at Johnson University, where he studied Fitness Science and was a member of the soccer team. Dalton graduated from Johnson in 2022. We are excited to have Coach Miller coaching at Berean. We believe he is an excellent role model for our young boys and we love when our alumni continue to be involved in the Berean community. Coach Miller has a passion for basketball he hopes to share with his team, and is excited to watch them grow as basketball players, as well as young men.

CROSS COUNTRY
Cross country takes place in the summer/fall through September.

COACH BRENNA WRIGHT
Coach Brenna Wright has served as our elementary & middle school Cross Country Coach for several years. In the fall of 2023, Brenna started our High School Cross Country team! Brenna and her husband Aaron, who serves as the High School Boys Soccer Coach, have two kids, Phoebe and Shepherd, who attend Berean. In her free time, Brenna enjoys gardening, running, camping, spending time with her family, and doing anything outdoors!
MS GIRLS CHEER
Berean Cheer Team is open to middle school girls and they cheer in the winter for basketball.
COACH SANDY SAVAGE

Sandy Savage has been coaching Cheer at Berean for since 2023. She has coached cheer for five years for Gibbs Youth Sports and is a graduate of CMSU. She hopes all her girls learn the basics of cheer while developing a love for the sport. She believes Philippians 4:13 aligns with her coaching values: “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Sandy, and her husband David, have two girls who attend Berean: Allie, who is in 10th grade, and Shelbie-Jo, who is in 4th grade, and on the cheer team.
MS CO-ED GOLF
Berean Golf Team is open to girls and guys and they play in the Spring.
COACH MATT DYER

Coach Dyer is the Middle & High School Golf Coach at Berean. He has been coaching golf at the middle and high school levels since 2017, and this will be his fourth season coaching at Berean.
Outside of golf, Coach Dyer works for Pilot Company, overseeing the Northeast United States for DEF for our travel centers and other customers. He is married to Megan Dyer, a preschool teacher at Berean. They have four children who are all enrolled at Berean: Landon, Dalton, Jessa Mae and Becca Dyer. When he is not coaching golf, he loves to spend quality time with his wife. They also love to spend time fishing with their kids. Coach Dyer says having his family at BCS has been such a blessing for him as a coach and as a parent. He knows his children are safe and are being loved, supported, and taught the Word! The BCS family is a family of grace and compassion.
FLAG FOOTBALL
Flag Football season takes place in the fall.
COACH TREY FOSHEE
Trey Foshee is the head Flag Football coach. He is married to Rachel Foshee, a teacher here at Berean.
He has coached at Berean for the past four years. Trey played Football at Baylor School from 2011 to 2014. He believes that Titus 2:11-14 best fits his coaching values. His goal in coaching is to teach Biblical disciplines through the gift that God has given us in sports. He hopes that attributes such as hard work, discipline, and unity are taught on the field so that we build up athletes who love to serve the Lord on and off the field.
Trey attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, to earn his Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering. He is now a full-time Engineer. Outside of coaching, he enjoys Disc Golf, board games, and spending time with his family and friends.
